The reason behind this is the controversial law imposed by the Beijing Local Government to the former British Territory.<\/p>\n<p>The US has also suspended three other treaties with China on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The freedom of the residents of Hong Kong has been violated and crushed because of the new security law imposed on them, said the State Department of the US. They added that Washington will be suspending following three agreements related to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The surrender of fugitive offenders<\/li>\n<li>The relocation of sentenced individuals,<\/li>\n<li>Reciprocal tax exclusions on income.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The reaction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.hk\/\">Hong Kong Government<\/a> was not very welcoming. He said that China was violating the right of self-government and freedom of the residents.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong has relished the special trade and security status with the US since the transfer of Hong Kong from Britain to China in 1997. But the odds have started to change against this status since June.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Beijing has implemented a controversial new security law on the people of Hong Kong. This new national security law was not appreciated by the dwellers of the city and lead to the great protests every now and then.<\/p>\n<p>Because of the increasing, controversy, and protests, the US has suspended the extradition agreements with Hong Kong. US president, Donald Trump has published an executive order to terminate the special security status on July 14.
