This movie plot may sound creepy to our readers, and more like a premise from R. Kelly and Jeffrey Epstein.<\/p>\n<p>However, Netflix already has a history of producing content that was deemed to promote pedophilia, so this is nothing new really. However, even if Netflix has a history of making problematic content about kids that no one likes, and with pedophilia conspiracies at an all time high, one would imagine the company having a little tact. Hoping to join them, she starts to explore her femininity, defying her family\u2019s traditions\u201d.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The film is rated MA (mature audiences), yet it almost exclusively depicts 11 year old girls from a &#8220;diverse&#8221; cultural and racial background, including a Muslim girl.<\/p>\n<p>Following the public backlash, Netflix <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2020\/08\/netflix-apologizes-inappropriate-cuties-poster-criticized-sexualizing-children-1203018498\/\">apologized<\/a> today, but only for the poster, not for the content of the movie, and it looks like they are going to release it anyway on September 9th. It was not OK, nor was it representative of this French film which premiered at Sundance.
