German automaker Daimler AG unveiled its latest Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan on Wednesday pinning its hopes on the recovery of the luxury car market.<\/p>\n

Daimler CEO Ola Kaellenius called the S-Class luxury sedan as the \u2018heart of the brand\u2019 in an online event on Wednesday that launched the sleek and long vehicle poised to help the business reap huge profits amid the worsening pandemic.<\/p>\n

Kaellenius also said that despite Covid-19\u2019s effect on the luxury car business, cost-cutting measures and sound fiscal management practices have helped stabilize the company which saw revenues slump by as much as 30 percent in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n

Vehicles especially top-end Mercedes-Benz models and electric vehicles have slowly picked up in sales starting in July after a decrease in sales reported in the previous quarter.<\/p>\n

The Stuttgart-based automaker also aims to outsource information technology services and cut positions<\/a> in research and development.<\/p>\n

Kaellenius earlier said plans of a new cost-savings program and is looking to cut an additional 10,000 jobs through 2025, magazine Automobilwoche reported, citing unidentified company sources.<\/p>\n

Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz S-Class offers automotive luxury<\/h2>\n

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is shaping the next generation of individual mobility for our times with innovations that place the focus on people. The new S-Class uses digitization for a car that responds empathetically to the needs and wishes of its driver and passengers.<\/p>\n

Among its features highlighted in a recent statement<\/a> include up to five screens on board, some with OLED technology. At the touch of a button, the new 3D driver display for the first time allows spatial perception of the scene with a real 3D effect thanks to eye-tracking. A similarly impressive feature is the very large head-up display with augmented reality content.<\/p>\n

Using cameras in the overhead control panel and learning algorithms, MBUX Interior Assist also recognizes and anticipates the wishes and intentions of the occupants by interpreting head direction, hand movements, and body language, and responds with corresponding vehicle functions.<\/p>\n

Active ambient lighting with around 250 LEDs is now integrated into the driving assistance systems and can reinforce their warnings visually. Also, feedback is possible when operating the climate control system or the ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice assistant.<\/p>\n

Other significant features of Daimler AG’s new Mercedes-Benz \u00a0S-Class sedan are the \u00a0Driving Assistance Package, a rear airbag and axle steering, and an over-the-air update.<\/p>\n

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan also comes with optional extra features like the conditionally automated mode with the new Drive Pilot feature and a revolutionary headlamp technology called Digital Light that allows completely new functions that allow projection of marking aids or warning symbols onto the road ahead.<\/p>\n
