Texas city has been issued a warning after a brain-eating microbe was discovered in its public water supply.<\/p>\n
As soon as the microbe was discovered various tests were carried out. The tests showed the presence of Naegleria Fowleri in the system. The amoeba can cause a lethal infection in the brain.<\/p>\n
Although this infection is not often reported in the United States. Previously only 34 such infections were reported from 2009 till the year 2018. Investigations for the city s water supply started when a six-year-old boy died and the cause of his death was a microbe inside a brain.<\/p>\n
Naegleria Fowleri is usually found in pure water all over the world. It usually enters the brain through the nose. The infection spreads in the body when people go over for swimming or diving in freshwater places as per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Nor Infection is spread from person to person neither by swallowing the water.<\/p>\n
Some of the most common symptoms of Naegleria include fever, vomit, nausea, vomiting. If the infection becomes severe then chances of survival are not more than one to seven days.<\/p>\n
Authorities in Lake Jackson claim that they are trying their level best to eradicate all such chemicals from the water supply. But the process is time-consuming and no fixed date as to when the entire process will be completed.<\/p>\n
