COVID-19 has caused 2.54M deaths worldwide since the sudden outbreak in December 2019. Ever since the virus has evolved and its many variants are indicating the fourth surge of COVID-19 cases in the US alone.<\/p>\n
Dr Rochelle Walensky, the head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a> (CDC) has warned US citizen about the potential threat from the new variant of coronavirus. She said the stats of the COVID-19 cases are alarmingly high. The US has around 70,000 new cases within the last week which indicates a fourth wave of the new COVID-19 variant.<\/p>\n She stated that people need to listen to her very carefully. She warned that this high number of new cases especially because of new viral variants spreading all over again can break the hard-earned peaceful ground that the US has achieved. This can be a potential COVID-19 fourth wave.<\/p>\n Although there are many various versions of the coronavirus, only a few of them are deadly. The scientists are worried about the variants detected in the United Kingdom, Brazil, and South Africa.<\/p>\n The US has B.1.1.7 coronavirus variant which is excessively contagious and can cause COVID-19 fourth wave.<\/p>\n She encouraged the people of the US that they had to be consistent with their SOPs and hold their conviction to beat the coronavirus fourth surge of the cases to save the country.<\/p>\n According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 28.7M coronavirus cases has been observed out of which around 500,000 deaths have occurred so far.<\/p>\n The US has fought well to defeat the coronavirus as 76 million people have already received the vaccine against the deadly virus.<\/p>\n There is no strong evidence that new variants can cause deaths.
