The company&#8217;s management has not yet talked about other variants.<\/p>\n<p>The history of DeLorean is varied, as the company was founded in 1975 by John DeLorean, but went bankrupt in 1982. Perhaps the company would have been forgotten if not for the famous trilogy &#8220;Back to the Future&#8221;, where DeLorean played the main role.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, a fan revived the company in 1995 with the name DeLorean Motor Company and decided to continue the iconic design. Now, the automaker has unveiled the first-ever DeLorean in electric car form, featuring the typical huge hinged doors or rear window louvers.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s where the link to the original brand ends, as many believe the design of the new electric car is going in a different direction. The new Alpha 5 electric car can accelerate from zero to 100 km\/h in 2.99 seconds and should house a 100 kWh battery that should provide a range of up to 480 km.<\/p>\n<p>It also boasts a top speed of 250 km\/h. However, all these specifications are only listed for the base model. Other models with specific specifications may yet come. The &#8220;GT&#8221; model, for example, could be even more performance-oriented. Production capacity is set at 88 units.
