Hurricane Laura has hit the US state of Louisiana with high-speed winds. It has caused flash flooding which can be extremely dangerous. National Hurrican Center has warned the residents of Louisiana.

A hurricane with 240km/h wind speed can be unsurvivable. The category four hurricane may cause an extreme storm surge that will move inland with excessively high speed.

This would be the strongest storm surge that can hit the US Gulf Coast in the history of the storms if it maintains the same speed while moving inwards.

National Center of Hurricane (NCH) has warned and asked the dwellers of some areas of Texas and Louisiana to leave to save their lives.

Near Cameron, the district of Louisiana, there has been observed a landfall around 5GMT according to local time.

Hurricane Laura has proved to be disastrous for the people of Louisiana. NCH has published some instructions to save lives. NCH has asked people to stay in a concrete reinforced interior room, cover their heads with pillows, cushions, and mattresses. They also suggested staying under the table if you did not have any reinforced room.

Thousands of houses in Texas and Lousiana have lost power or electricity supply because of the Hurricane Laura. 290,000 Houses in Lousiana and 66,000 Houses in Texas do not have electricity supply for many hours.

Lake Charles in south-west Louisiana, the coastal city has also experienced a strong hit by the hurricane. TV footage has also shown that the hurricane has destroyed some buildings.

More than 24 people have died in the Caribbean as Laura and Marco, another hurricane, hit the city with high-speed winds causing flash flooding.

Initially, it was estimated that both storms would hit Lousiana with a gap of 48h from each other. Fortunately, later the hurricane Marco has disappeared leaving the city in the hands of Laura.
