The United Kingdom issues a warning for major parts of the country after facing a severe risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall.

Parts of Eastern Scotland, South West England and Wales are likely to remain under high risks as per the Met office

Police urged the locals, especially to the motorists to be meticulous when taking the routes.

A lower-level warning has been declared in the rest of the United kingdom after the adverse effects due to heavy rain. Meteorologists say that this rainfall will continue and warnings to be enforced till 06:00 BST Sunday.

According to the Met office last time an amber warning for heavy rains was declared in March.

Exmoor was the worst affected by heavy rain on Saturday. Lipscomb reported 84mm of rain in the previous 36 hours while Brendon hill recorded 74.4 mm of rain.

Scotrail has decided to limit train service in amber warning areas. The plan is to implement near 19:00 BST on Sunday.

This rain pattern has originated from storm Alex that previously caused widespread chaos in France and Italy. The pattern brought gale force and resulted in the form of heavy rain on Friday in southern England.

The storm caused massive destruction in Italy, bringing major flooding alongside the border. This led to the collapsing of bridges, blockage of roads, and drains. Earlier a group of 16 people went missing in Italy. These all were travelers taking the mountain pass on the Col De Tende mountain that lies between France and Italy. These travelers include two people from Germany and two brothers from France.

Met officer claims that rainfall was likely to take place, particularly in drier regions. The direction of the wind causing rainfall seemed unusual. Drains are likely to get blocked with debris.

The Regions in the United Kingdom that have been issued amber warnings pose a potential threat to life because of fast-flowing floodwater. Communities might even cut off if such conditions continue to prevail.
