Covid-19 Trial Vaccine :China has been vaccinating its doctors and medical officers, especially those who were working on the front line with the Covid-19 patients. Senior personnel of China’s national health commission revealed on Saturday.
The senior health commission official told the state media that the experimental Covid-19 trial vaccine was approved on 22 July.
Zheng Zhongwei is the director of the Science and Technology Department. He told that the eligible candidate for receiving the trial vaccine include healthcare workers who had direct contact with Covid-19 patients, medical officers treating the patients, epidemic prevention unit, and fever clinic staff.

The company that has gone this far in the race of Covid-19 trial vaccine development is none other than the Central Epidemic Prevention Department of Beiyang Government. Its new name is China National Biotec Group Company which comes under China’s Health Ministry.
The vaccine has reached phase 3 of the clinical trials. It has been tested in Peru, UAE, Morocco, and some other countries too.
A vaccine passes multiple stages tests before it is actually implemented on humans and be available commercially.
- Pre-Clinical: The vaccine is tested on animals and carefully observed if it induces an immune response in the body of the animal.
- Phase 1: It is given to the small group of people including an experimental group and a control group. Mostly, there are approximately 50 people in it.
- Phase 2: It is tested on hundreds of humans to see the immune response, the dosage quantity as well as the safe limit.
- Phase 3: It is given to thousands of people to see the safety and any side effects. This is the stage where China’s new trial vaccine on Doctors has been tested.
- Implementation: This is the final stage of vaccine development. The vaccine is approved for use on a public scale. FDA approved it after critical analysis. Licencing and other patent activities are performed on this stage.
