Hyperion Reveals Hydrogen-electric Supercar XP-1 with a 1,000 Mile Range

Hyperion also claims that the XP-1 supercar can go up to 220 MPH

Hyperion, a California-based company announced a new hydrogen-electric supercar in a brief video. The company’s new supercar XP-1 was supposed to be launched in an auto show in New York.

Due to the recent pandemic situation, Hyperion was forced to keep the launching program digital. Hyperion is known for developing hi-tech cars in the U.S.A. The company uses cutting edge technologies for manufacturing better cars for users.

Hyperion already revolutionized the transportation industry by offering high-quality and low-cost hydrogen fuel solutions.

New Hyperion Supercar will be released in Early 2022

The development team at Hyperion announced that they will release 300 units of XP-1 in early 2022. XP-1 will have a “Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cell Power Module.” This is a new technology wrapped with titanium-reinforced shells.

Hyperion promised the supercar lovers a 1000+ mile range in a single fuel tank

Hyperion replaced the traditional lithium-ion battery with its own space-age technology. The technology will allow the fuel cells to store energy to power the electric motors.

Hyperion will also install a hi-tech solar panel in the supercar. It will enhance the car’s ability to track the sun for energy and add aerodynamics for a smoother performance.

“This is only the beginning of what can be achieved with hydrogen as an energy storage medium. The potential of this fuel is limitless and will revolutionize the energy sector.” – Hyperion CEO Angelo Kafantaris

XP-1 has a 1000+ miles range

Hyperion promised the car users a 1000+ miles range using only one refueling. This long-range performance will give the supercar an upper hand in the industry.

Some other features Hyperion revealed are-

  • Refueling takes less than 5 minutes
  • 0-60 MPH within 2.2 seconds
  • 220 MPH top speed

So it will be interesting to see how the fans will love the performance of this hydrogen-electric car. Already, other electric car manufacturers like Tesla saw a huge surge in popularity in recent years.

One big challenge Hyperion faced to keep XP-1 standout in the market is making the car lightweight. The car registered a weight below 2,275 pounds.

Like sci-fi movies, this car has a top-notch design with beautiful interiors. A team of Aerospace engineers designed the XP-1 supercar.

Unfortunately, we have to wait for more details as the promo video only covers a glimpse of the interior of XP-1.
