Japanese PM, Shinzo Abe, has resigned from the post due to health issues.

He made an apology to the Japanese and told them his intentions of leaving the post. He said he did not want to make any bad decisions because of his illness.

Mr. Abe has told the media that he has been suffering from ulcerative colitis since his teenage. He has lived with the disease but recently the disease got more severe and he was unable to perform his duties as a prime minister.

The 65 years old Japanese PM, Mr. Abe has had the honor to be the longest-serving prime minister of Japan last year. His term in office began in 2012. He is leaving one year before the completion of his term in office.

He has not appeared on media for weeks due to his ailment. He has decided to continue his duties until the next prime minister is elected.

His disease has been a hurdle in his services since his teenage. He has learned to live with it. Nevertheless, the disease has become more severe since mid-July.

He is resigning from the post a second time. He first resigned in 2007 because of the same illness, ulcerative colitis. Ulcerative colitis is an inflammatory bowel disease.

Mr. Abe said to the public that he did not want his disease to come in the way of important decision-making process. He said that there were many policies that were coming related to Covid-19 and more. He apologetically stated that he had made a decision of leaving the post and resigning.

Japanese PM, Shinzo Abe’s services for the country are countless. He has been a very staunch conservative and profound economist. He has introduced his new economic system in Japan called “Abenomics”. He has improved the Japan-US relationship, strengthened the Japanese Army, and reinforced the economy.
