Australia records its lowest record of daily Corona cases after three months with only 18 people infected with the fatal virus.
It is a huge milestone in Australia primarily for the state of Victoria with only 14 new cases reported on Sunday morning. While a day before Sunday 21 cases were reported. Previously, the state of Victoria was the core center of the Corona outbreak.
New South Wales and Queensland each came up with two new infections. Although five other states have not reported daily cases by Sunday morning, but have not recorded any new cases so far in weeks.
It is said that the last time this happened was on June 23.
Since the outbreak of the deadly virus took place capital of the city, Melbourne has been following extremely strict precautions. The government has issued a curfew along with stay and work in home orders. Due to these circumstances, protests against the lockdown have become quite frequent in the city.
On Sunday local media reported that a large number of demonstrators came up to protest at the central business district. The police came to halt this protest on a horseback.
However, Victorian state Premier Daniel Andrews appreciated the state’s effort towards exercising strict lockdown while talking about the spiking cases in Europe.
Previously, he was criticized for exercising strict restrictions against the virus. He explained how countries have been struggling and made huge sacrifices. But it feels miserable to witness more rise in cases in the second wave as compared to the first one. Although European data reports less death, the situation is completely adverse.
As the situation is progressing towards the positive side capital of the country, Melbourne might ease the strict restrictions soon. The government is planning to remove the curfew and place few limits from October 26 onwards. That too, if less than five cases are recorded on a daily basis.
